Sweet Dress

Last spring I made this dress for my niece to wear as a part of the Ruffles and Stuff, Ruffle Your Stuff challenge.
I made it using the Sweet Dress pattern by Leila and Ben. I started with a simple khaki fabric and embellished it with 6 rows of ruffles (Anna Maria Horner) and a fabric flower!
Project Run and Play has chosen to use the sweet dress pattern for their next challenge.  If you haven't been following the challenge you should tune in! Katy won last week with her avalanche dress, which is truly amazing and she has a tutorial for it too!

This week the contestants have to embellish the sweet dress and take it from ordinary to extraordinary! I can't wait to see what they come up with. I am sure it will inspire me to pull out this pattern again and make a few new dresses for spring '11!

What a cute cute dress!!! Love it! Ahh the ruffles...so girly! I love that my girls are still young enough where I get to have the majority of say over their wardrobe - lol. Very cute dress.
